Winter intersession is an online intensive four-week class offered between the fall and spring semesters. College of The Albemarle’s General Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce you to various aspects of the free enterprise system. You’ll be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, processes, and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy. Our business graduates regularly score in the top five to 10 percent on the national Educational Testing Service Major Field Test in Business, which assesses core business knowledge. This option requires six additional hours of study and provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and marketing analysis, as well as an understanding of small business enterprises. General Business Studies students participated in numerous co-op positions, including placements in Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency , Nova Scotia Business Inc , Blue Water CBDC, Kraft Canada, Bell Aliant, Templeton Properties, and Labatt Breweries. Internship positions included business analyst, communications assistant, fundraising and PR coordinator, research assistant, and junior development officer. The General Business Administration program offers a select number of accelerated Winter Intersession Courses.
